Beauty and the Feast Spa Party @ Herbaline, Puchong

I have always wanted to visit Herbaline because of the numerous good reviews I have heard about them and the wide range of beauty services that they have to offer but I never had the opportunity to do so because I was too busy with studies to get myself some pampering sessions.

Just as I completed my studies, I received an invitation to attend a party by Herbaline called Beauty and the Feast Spa Party @ Herbaline, Puchong. What a perfect timing!

HERBALINE PUCHONG FACIAL SPA
The interior design of the place is exquisite. As you walk into the compound, it feels like you are stepping into a resort club. The Facial Spa branch registration area was spacious and modern. The Spa section totally screams Zen! Warm dim-litted lights and wooden flooring with spotlights only at designated areas were so enchanting that it's heavenly.

I could not hold in my excitement that even before I started my first pampering session, I have already note it down in my mind that I will be coming back here again! Like, Herbaline, PLEASE JUST TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!

Fish Spa

The Foot Bath was interesting. Based on my newbie experience to spas (only been two 2 spas in my life), my foot is usually washed by the masseur but in Herbaline, it seems that we are supposed to wash it on our own. So, I was pretty lost with the tools provided as I have never scrub my own feet before using a brush. So, all I did was that I just soak my feet into the nice warm water that has salt added in to sanitize them from bacteria.


After the foot bath, I was supposed to go for a foot spa with the fishes but because of my recent fall and treatment from Chinese Sinsei that involves punching holes into my ankle, the healing wound on my ankle prohibits me from dipping it in in case I kill the fishes or the fishes could transmit uncalled for diseases to me. So, no ticklish sensation experience for me :(

Sea Salt

Next was the Sea Salt Therapy Room where customers are supposed to take off their clothes and wear the provided kimono and get themselves buried by sea salt for at least 20minutes. It is said that the sea salt helps to improve blood circulation by balancing the electrolytes in the body and provides whitening benefits to the skin.


Other services available at the Puchong outlet are massages, facial spa, butterfly embroidery and each facial session will be revitalize with a lavender scent and a lemongrass scent before and after each treatment to calm the nerves.

All services provided will be done in a private Balinese-like room. They also do provide a couple room for couples to enjoy the relaxation together but it has to be with the company of a female.

Their facial spa services ranges from fish spas, sea salt therapy, facial, threading, ear candling, waxing to full body massage and all this is within the price range of RM59 - RM250.

After much pampering, we head over to Mama Kim for dinner. A plate of Chicken Salad was served as an appetizer along with a cold teapot filled with passionfruit tea. The salads were really fresh and the chicken meat were tasty while the fruit tea was sweet and luscious. Next, comes the main course, the Sauna Mee. It was the best hotstone pot of 80% vegetable and 20% meat noodles I have ever tasted in my life! The soup taste was divine, I literally finished the entirely hot stone pot of noodles along with the soup and stole some of Miriam's because it was just so so so good.

We finish off our meal with a sumptuous bowl of black glutinous rice pudding as dessert and a glass of warm lemongrass. The Black Glutinous Rice Pudding taste was just average and I did not gulp the lemongrass drink down because I do not like lemongrass at all. However, if you do like a cup of lemongrass, do order one at Mama Kim because their lemongrass drink is really concentrated.

CK Low, Founder of Herbaline, explained that he decided to make his idea a reality because he wants everyone to

And thanks to the brilliant idea, Herbaline is able to expand up to 19 outlets in Selangor and provide up to 3 different types of services: eateries - Mama Kim, beauty salon - Herbaline Facial Spa and a staycation place - Sojourn House (only available at Pandan Indah) just so that everyone can enjoy and have a good and healthy living lifestyle.

CONCLUSION
Though Herbaline Puchong does not provide staycation like the one they have at Pandan Indah, Facial Spa and Mama Kim was definitely more than enough to appease me. I would definitely visit Herbaline again.

A Sandakan Girl is Crowned as the Winner of FreshLook FreshFaces Girl Search 2015!

One of the perks of being a college girl is that there are endless opportunities made for college kids to shine. Whether it's an innovation challenge or a contest that brands the coolest kid in town, it is often about having fun. Though this post isn't about the smartest kid in town who's won himself a job at Google, it is about a young girl who became the winner FreshLook FreshFaces's Girl Search 2015 winner.


FreshLook FreshFaces Girl Search 2015 hosted by Alcon Malaysia and MYC! scout over 2,221 young girls and 26 universities - to search for the one girl with the most colorful personality, one who is able to empower other young women to live their lives colorfully. After months of scouting, pinning it down to 30 finalist and sending the girls off for intensive training with Color Etiquette and Grooming by Michelle Lim, Corporate Grooming Consultant; Poise & Posture by Amber Chia, International Celebrity Model, and Social Media Etiquette by Jason Ko, Chief Executive Officer of MYC!

These girls definitely strut the stage with full of confidence and poise. Here, have a look at it yourself!




Mind you, majority of them are between the age of 18 - 21 years old who has not have any experience catwalking on stage.

Though they were dolled up by Kiss Me makeup artist, their runway dresses and style were self-pick and sponsored by Zalora. And I am totally impressed with all of their taste in fashion as it really compliments their body figure and personality. They definitely put up an amazing show by strutting their fashion style and catwalk skills with all they've got.




After strutting the runway with 2-3 outfits (2 gowns and 1 stress fashion style) and putting up a fantastic acapella performance. Katrina Kayora Ong, 19 from Sandakan who's currently studying at INTI University was crowned as the winner of FreshLook FreshFaces 2015. Congratulations girl!

Laneige: Monster to Mini Pores? [Review + More]


The brand that has made every girl's makeup life story simpler through the invention of BB Cushion, Laneige now brings us the latest range of products that is said to help combat against "Monster Pores" and that is, the Mini Pore!

As I have always been a die-heart fan of theirs ever since I have gotten my hands on their BB Cushion Pore Control, other range products of theirs such as the Sleeping Mask and the Two-tone Lip Bar continues to impress me. Thus, I was thrilled to be invited to witness the launching of the brand's newest babies.

Before I move on to the review, let's find out what can these range of babies do for you.


INTRODUCTION
Aside from achieving a healthy, radiant even looking skin, another major concern that many women commonly battle against are the existence of large pores. Whether you have dry, oily, combination, gene-inherited, or aging skin type - we are all prone to have large pores either due to the secretion of sebum, blackheads, whiteheads, squeezing of acnes and inheritance.

In all honesty, if you have been following the daily skin regimen closely, chances of getting large pores are minimal, in fact it is almost to none and that is if the inheritance of having large pores does NOT run in your family line. However, if you have not been following the daily skin regimen of Cleansing, Toner, Moisturizer, Mask, Exfoliate and etc. on a consistent basis and using the right products for your skin type, large pores would eventually develop. To make matters worst, ignorance over the years will then lead to what Laneige describes it as the MONSTER PORES!


In fact, monster pores which are also known as craters on the face are commonly found in men but lucky for them, these craters seems to complement the masculine look rather than horrifying. Unfortunately, women are not able to pull off the monster pore looks due to our feminine-looking features as well as the lack of hair facial to cover or attract the on-going checkers' eyes attention from roaming any further than the amazing thickness of the mustachios because if a woman has beards....that's actually way creepier....

Thus, this is where Laneige's new Mini Pore range comes in handy for women who do not wish to have large pores that looks like scars on their faces and help them to achieve that flawless-looking skin.


The first product that they introduce to help combat against the development of Monster Pores is the Laneige Mini Pore Waterclay Mask. The watery mud-like formula is designed to aid in absorbing excessive secretion of sebum, tightening the pores and supplying moisture to dry pores. Often, large pores are caused by the excessive secretion of sebum that often either form into whiteheads or clogging of blackheads. With the inclusion of ingredients such as the Pine Needle Extract, developments of large pores were able to curb as the ingredient is used to assist in controlling excessive secretion of sebum through absorption of sebum by the product. Other main ingredients would be Mint Water. As it is a Waterclay Mask, do expect it to be a little more diluted than the normal Clay Mask you often seen or used at home. Upon application, leave the mask on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing off entirely with the provided sponge for a thorough cleansing. It is to be used after the first step of skincare daily regimen - cleansing.


As for the second product, Laneige Mini Pore Blurring Tightener is designed to tighten up the pores after cleansing by blurring the pore shades and keeping the oil secretion at bay on a daily basis. Similar to it's sister product, it contains Pine Needle Extract, Mint Water to prevent the development of larger pores. It is recommended to use as the final step of your daily skin regimen and if needed, you can use it on targeted areas.

SUMMARY
What I really enjoy about the Mini Pore Waterclay Mask is that you get to see your pores once the clay dries up and it looks like you've caught some clay hives haha! Aside from that, though the Mini Pore Waterclay Mask was really diluted, the amount of formula needed to cover the entire face is similar to the amount you used from your normal clay mask, thus excessive amount of product for application is not needed. The Mask does not causes any tingling or burning sensation probably due to the solution rather you get this cooling sensation upon first contact especially if you are applying the Waterclay Mask in a cold room. After a single use, an immediate results were noticeable in terms of lesser appearance whiteheads and blackheads. As for the pores, it definitely felt tighter but then again it is still too early to declare that the product works in closing up monstrosity pores as it was only a one time trial.



Aside from that, I have a combination skin type where my cheeks are the dry zones and upon applying the Waterclay Mask onto the cheeks and upon rinsing, I notice my cheek's skin were flaking a little. Thus, even though it is stated to be suitable for all skin types I personally do not recommend this product for users with dry skin conditions because the Waterclay Mask really does absorb the sebum effectively.

As for the Mini Pore Blurring Tightener, the results were not as significant as the Waterclay Mask as it is meant to be a long term basis application to slowly heal the open pores to close up. The only critic that I could provide to you on this product would be a precautionary notice that this product may be too moisturizing for certain users especially those who has really oily skin condition as it contains moisturizing properties.

Smile with Burt's Bees Latest Lip Crayon [Review + Promo Code]

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon is an automatic lipstick that comes in 6 different matte shades ranging from red hues to pink. In terms of intensity of pigment, the creamy matte color base leans towards creating a natural-looking lips. In terms of lasting power, which is to my expect because it uses natural ingredients the color does not stay or last long at all. A meal and a cup of drink is all you need to transfer the lip crayon off from the lips.


SUMMARY
I love the idea that the design isn't the conventional design and it has moisturizing properties especially for a matte lip product. I also love the fact that the texture of the Lip Crayon isn't super dry like most matte color lipsticks but bear in mind that they are not super moisturizing either, just sufficient to get your lips looking healthy. However, I dislike the fact that it doesn’t last long as I am one of those girls who does not like to touch up their makeup every once awhile especially right after a meal as I find it a tedious thing to do.

I would definitely recommend this product to those who loves natural ingredient products and a matte color that’s able to provide moisture to the lips. Also, if you’re looking for a lightweight matte color lipstick, I would totally recommend this to you.

So, another fascinating Korean brand has arrived on Malaysia's shore a few weeks ago and they have decided to set their base at Sunway Pyramid.



Who Are They?

Classic Essence Increment, aside from the moisturizing bomb, this product has also been clinically tested to provide up to 26 hours of moisture while providing the skin with essential nutrients and vitamins to improve skin conditions that are dry and depleted complexion. Without a doubt, this is definitely suitable for normal to dry skin types.

Anti-Aging Essence, Acai berries are well-known in combating against early signs of skin aging, and with the combination of Calendula, which is a ultra-moisturizing ingredient, to users who's looking for a product that is able to provide abundance of moisture and nutrients that prevents the skin from aging, you should give this product a try.


My Thoughts
Belif's packaging and names are really simple yet eye-catching. I really fancy the Mask range's packaging due to the packaging's color and its names. Though most of the products' packaging looks extremely similar (except for the mask range) and the only way one can tell the difference would be the product's name, yet there's just something about its simplicity that attracts me to the brand by a lot. Also, with the exclusion of using any synthetic fragrances, bare in mind that the products will not contain any fruity or pleasant scent as most of it would have a really strong herb scent. Well, unless you love the scent of herbs, of course. Also, the store's design somehow reminds me of Khiel's and due to the familiar intuitive, I was really tempted to grab one of the products home to try them out.

So, do head on over to their store and be fascinated with the various kinds of products they have because I know I did. 

Conclusion
Belif is suitable across all age groups as their store has a wide variety of products lined up to help manage your skincare concerns for both genders.Their product prices ranges from RM45 - RM260. If you are a fan of Khiel's who uses natural ingredients to achieve clinically and promising results, you should give Belif a go as well as they uses herbs and provides clinically proven results with transparency on key ingredients right on their packaging.
